We are very sad to share the news of the death of Reg Cole, one of our earliest and longest-standing members, who passed away on 9th July 2025 at the age of 86.

Reg was part of the group from its earliest days, when we were still growing and applying to become a charity. He worked for Age Concern and Walsall Council for many years and was an honest, forthright, and passionate advocate for the rights and advancement of people with a visual impairment.

In later years, Reg was not able to attend the group as regularly due to his declining health, but he always kept in touch with our chairman, Steve Mellor, and remained interested in the group’s development and activities.

Our longstanding members remember Reg fondly, and we would like to offer our heartfelt condolences and support to his wife Anne and all of their extended family.
